Will of Francis Waldock, 1828

This is the last Will and Testament of me Francis Walduck of Ashwell in the County of Hertford Labourer First I order my Debts & Funereal and Testamentary Expenses to be paid I Give to Sarah Goodchild of Ashwell aforesaid Widow one good Stock of Bees such as she shall choose. I Give and devise unto my eldest Son George Waldock and his Heirs and Assigns for ever All that Cottage Dwellinghouse or Tenement situate in Ashwell aforesaid wherein he now inhabits and dwells with the Garden Buildings and Premises thereto belonging and now occupied and enjoyed therewith by me said Son George Waldock. I Give and devise unto my Son William Waldock and his Heirs and Assigns for ever All that Messuage Dwellinghouse or Tenement wherein I now inhabit and dwell situate in Ashwell aforesaid with the Garden Buildings and Premises thereto belonging and now occupied and enjoyed therewith by me and other the Appurtenances thereto belonging subject to and charged with the payment of so much money as the same shall amount unto according to a fair valuation to be made of the Premises by some indifferent Person to be chosen by my Sons and Daughters, Ann Gentle the wife of William Gentle, William Waldock, Thomas Waldock, Philip Waldock, Joseph Waldock, James Waldock and Ruth Larman the wife of William Larman which I give to my Son and Daughters Ann Gentle, William Waldock, Thomas Waldock, Philip Waldock, Joseph Waldock, James Waldock and Ruth Larman equally to be divided between and amongst them share and share alike by my Executors to be paid to them in twelve Calendar Months next after my Decease. And as to all my Household Goods and Furniture, Clothes and Wearing Apparel and the remainder of my Stocks of Bees and all the rest and residue of my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I Give the same to my said Sons and Daughters Ann Gentle, William Waldock, Thomas Waldock, Philip Waldock, Joseph Waldock, James Waldock, Francis Waldock and Ruth Larman equally to be divided between and amongst them share and share alike by my Executors immediately after my decease, provided always and it is my will that in case my son Francis Waldock who is now abroad shall not return to England that his share shall be divided between my said Sons and Daughters Ann Gentle, William Waldock, Thomas Waldock, Philip Waldock, Joseph Waldock, James Waldock and Ruth Larman equally share and share alike. I appoint my Sons William Waldock and James Waldock Executors of this my Will. And lastly hereby revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made, I declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said Francis Waldock the Testator have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this third Day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight.

William Waldock and James Waldock the [ ] within named were sworn duly to execute the [ ] Will And that the effects of the deceased are under the value of Twenty pounds.
