My research on the Fagg name itself hasn't got very far, not helped by the fact that John Fagg died just before he could be in a census to show his birthplace. He was said in the family to be from Kent, but that doesn't narrow down the possibilities enough. However, the Sumner family and their relations came from Horndon-on-the-Hill in Essex, which has yielded a lot of information on this branch. Sarah Collins was born in Hadleigh, Suffolk, but I have got no information on her ancestors. The ancestors of Flora Sophia Sarah Starr were mainly Londoners, but, according to the 1841 census, James McDonald was born in Scotland - again, not a lot of help!
