The Hintons are mainly a London family, from the areas of Clerkenwell, Islington and Hackney - they were enamel painters and watch makers. Most of the extensive information about cousins here comes from a Great-uncle Bob, who also said that Mary Trindale came from Warwickshire. There is also a connection to the Ibbs of Kimbolton in Huntingdonshire. The Church side of the family is based more to the south of the Thames, from Bermondsey and Southwark, except for the Cottis line, which comes from Tolleshunt in Essex.
