Family History - Murphy

This branch includes some very interesting stories.  Jeremiah Matthew Murphy was said to have come over from Cork, due to some "trouble", then promptly fallen during a street demonstration in London, then married the nurse who cared for him.  They had 21 children (or 17, according to the source), although only 6 are shown in the 1881 census, after 15 years of marriage.

The Jesseman side of the family appears to have come originally from Scotland, but then settled in Brightlingsea in Essex; in the 1881 census, though, they are scattered from Kent to Cardiff to Chester.  For more on the Brightlingsea connections, see the descendants of Samuel May, below - the names Thamer and Rebecca were carried through several generations here.

The Blenko family were Londoners, but William John Blenko, went to America in 1892, going on to found the Blenko Glass Company
